What is your most memorable concert to-date?

My first performance after I got my music break during COVID. It was one of a kind because I remember our sound system failed and I had to sing acapella, yet the crowd sang every word of my song.

How does it feel to be the Ambassador of the Month for EQUAL Pakistan?

It feels crazy knowing that I started my music journey only 3 years ago, and now I am part of a platform that represents female musicians at a global level. Spotify’s EQUAL programme plays a very huge role in representing Pakistani female artists globally, encouraging young female artists in Pakistan to pursue their passion of music as well. This is the best time for female artists all over the world. We are getting the recognition we all deserve.

How important do you think such initiatives are for women artists of our country?

In a country like Pakistan, where women are always a target of criticism in general, I think it’s extremely important to have initiatives such as EQUAL which empower us and boost our confidence to help us pursue our passion.

Tell us about your song that is being featured on the EQUAL Pakistan playlist…

I wrote ‘Trust Issues’ in a very weird phase in my life and as the name suggests, it’s about trust issues. You put your trust and faith into someone who makes you imagine this whole perfect scenario kind of life but their actions suggest the opposite and then eventually, you realise that you have to snap out of it but the trust issues will stay for a while.
