We need time to prepare by attending classes physically! Why can’t we have internal assessments till we are rid of Covid 19?

Feedback

Hi Ed,

Loved the cover story ‘Sub se pehlay Pakistan’ (By Muhammad Nabeel, January 15)! I was also a fan of Amir and feel disappointed and cheated. He still hasn’t grown up, and cannot continue to blame others for his mistakes. I also found ‘Preparing students for 2021’ useful, but, I cannot help wondering if anything can prepare us? My college conducts online classes but I don’t find them very useful, as my mind wanders and I cannot concentrate. Now that the college has reopened, I found out I was not the only one who suffered. Most of my class mates are as lost as I feel and on top of that we have to take exams in no time! We need time to prepare by attending classes physically! Why can’t we have internal assessments till we are rid of Covid 19?

Hey Ed,

In the issue of January 15, I liked the article ‘Upon the riverbank of memory’. It was helpful to me as I was sort of able to understand my feelings. It was beautifully written, too. Ed, I haven’t seen ‘The Green Room’ for some time and I am missing it. It is the only regular section that covers entertainment and shouldn’t be discontinued.

Hello, Assalam o Alekum,

I found your magazine online and it seems to be exactly what I have been looking for. I have been writing down my thoughts, experiences and ideas about what I have learned so far and what I think regarding different things and situations occurring with every passing day so far, in my life.

I have attached my work in this email. I hope you will have a go through what I have penned down. I will be highly grateful to you if you consider me and my work and give me a response.

Hey Afshan, we welcome new writers and will definitely consider your write-up.

Reflection

Narrated Abu Huraira (R.A):

While the Prophet (S.A.W) was saying something in a gathering, a Bedouin came and asked him, “When would the Hour (Doomsday) take place?” Allah’s Apostle continued his talk, so some people said that Allah’s Apostle had heard the question, but did not like what that Bedouin had asked. Some of them said that Allah’s Apostle had not heard it. When the Prophet finished his speech, he said, “Where is the questioner, who enquired about the Hour (Doomsday)?” The Bedouin said, “I am here, O Allah’s Apostle.” Then the Prophet said, “When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour (Doomsday).” The Bedouin said, “How will that be lost?” The Prophet said, “When the power or authority comes in the hands of unfit persons, then wait for the Hour (Doomsday.)”
