Hi Ed,

Loving Iqra Asad’s Hackschool project! Now, I wanted to share with you a few thoughts that came to mind when I was reading “Hackschool Project # 5 Leena’s mysterious solution” (Sep 29). I am really happy that Leena has come up with a solution. The solution is mysterious, but at least she won’t be wasting her precious time.

I think Leena shouldn’t have lied to her parents. Even Inaya and Jasir are aware of the truth! Then, why is she afraid of her parents? See, how they reacted after learning about Jasir’s after school adventure. They were surprised and concerned, but they didn’t stop Jasir from going to that reality show. No matter how bad the situation is, parents never give up on their children.

And, why is Leena treating Inaya so badly when she has her own flaws? In the previous episode, she was spying on her and now she is not letting her use the laptop. How unfair is that! And not just this, Leena continuously taunts Inaya on “keeping up with her social media feeds”. Just waiting to find out how Leena’s character develops in the next episode.

If Leena lies again, I will be disappointed! I hope she realizes her mistake and becomes a better person at the end of the project.

Hi Eddy,

“Sam’s kitchen” section (Sep 22) came as a surprise! I thought you guys published some youth-friendly recipes for the readers, but the disclaimer at the beginning ruined the surprise. I wish it was at the end of the article!

It was truly an entertaining piece. I am sure the writer wanted to convey a serious message through these chaotic recipes. Well, I am too dumb to understand what was beyond the lines, so I just stuck to the surface meaning and had a good laugh! Fruit surprise was the best and I think I should give it a try.

Ed, can we expect more such recipes in the future?

Just a recommendation for the ones who enjoy such pieces and are into Urdu books: Shafi Rehman’s Lehnren has got a collection of humorous stories. You can find it at old book stores.

Education for transgenders

Salam Ed,

It’s great that educational institutes are opening doors to transgenders students. Recently, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) announced that they would deliver free education to the transgender community. Many young transgenders don’t get a chance to continue studies after college because they can’t afford it. While studying at AIOU, they can also work part-time to support their families.

AIOU’s decision has been highly appreciated by the community; and we hope more and more private institutes come forward to empower the transgender community of Pakistan.

US MAILReflection

Narrated by Abu Said Al-Khudri

Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) said, “When the believers pass safely over (the bridge across) Hell, they will be stopped at a bridge in between Hell and Paradise where they will retaliate upon each other for the injustices done among them in the world, and when they get purified of all their sins, they will be admitted into Paradise. By Him in Whose Hands the life of Muhammad is everybody will recognize his dwelling in Paradise better than he recognizes his dwelling in this world.”
