Amidst the roaring claps of the crowd and sheer excitement on the faces of children, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy premiered her long-awaited 3 Bahadur at Nueplex Cinema in Karachi on Tuesday night. Officially Pakistan’s first-ever animated feature, the film has been creatively directed by Chinoy, and is a venture of SOC films and Waadi Animations.
Attended by celebrities and the who’s-who of the city alike, the premiere remained a star-stud
ded event with names like Behroze Sabzwari, who has provided his voice to one of the leading characters in the film, Deenu, Nadia Hussain, Ayesha Omar, Sikander Rizvi and Humayun Saeed coming out to support Chinoy’s latest venture.
While talking about the film at the premiere, Chinoy declared, “3 Bahadur is not just a film, it is a movement.”

The film, while slightly on the lengthy side, kept the audience on the edge of their seats thanks to the immaculately-done animation and an interesting storyline revolving around social evils which lurk in the nooks and crannies of the city and their ultimate destruction by the ‘3 bahadur’ Saadi, Kamil and Amna, in the little town of Roshan Basti.
The animated feature, which is slated for a nationwide release on May 22, is the perfect respite from the harsh summer and a must-watch for the whole family thanks to the important message it gives out in an engaging and non-preachy manner – of standing up for one’s rights.

First look for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Jazbaa released
There is good reason for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to grace the various red carpets at the 68th Cannes Film Festival this year, as the first look as well as a ‘sneak-peek’ for her highly-anticipated film Jazbaa were scheduled to be revealed at the event. Arriving to the special screening of the film in a red Oscar De La Renta dress, the actress stunned the crowds and paparazzo alike with her dazzling presence.
Coined as Aishwarya’s comeback film, Jazbaa’s first look shows the actress amidst piles of rubble and a backdrop of an annihilated metropolis in a non-glamorous, very-much-in-distress avatar that is quite a contrast to the way one sees her at festivals and events. The film is reportedly an action-drama where the actress will be playing the main female lead. Bachchan was last seen in Guzaarish four years ago, a movie which failed to live up to its expectations with a dismal box office record.
Jazbaa, which also features Irrfan Khan, John Abraham, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff and Anupam Kher in vital roles, is reportedly an official remake of a South-Korean film called Seven Days and is expected to be release some time this year.
