Mira Sethi, who made her acting debut with drama serial Silvatein (2013), last appeared on the big screen in 7 Din Mohabbat In (2018) alongside Mahira Khan, Sheheryar Munawar and Amna Ilyas among others. Mira Sethi essayed the role of Princess Sonu, a BBCD (British-Born Confused Desi), who spoke Punjabi and British-inflected English in the film. Even though 7DMI didn’t do too well at the box office, the actress generated mostly positive reviews for her portrayal of Princess Sonu.

While we are waiting for Mira Sethi to make an entry in the ongoing drama serial, Ye Dil Mera, that features Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir and Adnan Siddiqui in pivotal roles, the actress is all set to perform in a theatrical production.

A few days back she posted a picture of the Urdu translation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy King Lear on her official Instagram handle and captioned it, “This is happening. In Urdu. Directed by Zia Mohyeddin. Overjoyed at the opportunity to work with the Master. More soon! PS: how many of you have read the play?

In a recent post, Mira shared a picture of herself along with Zia Mohyeddin and wrote, “Zia Mohyeddin sahab. 88 going on 28... Such a privilege to be under his tutelage for the next two months.”

By the looks of it, there is still time till the Urdu adaptation of King Lear (translated by Khalid Ahmed) comes to life at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi. – Watch this space for more updates.
