Atif Aslam, who opened Coke Studio season 12 with a melodious rendition of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s hamd, ‘Wohi Khuda Hai’ earlier this month, recently got his very own star on the Dubai Walk of Fame. He is the first Pakistani to have received this honour for his exceptional body of work.

According to The Dubai Stars, Atif Aslam is considered “one of the best singers in Pakistan. He was honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan. Best known for his powerful vocal belting technique.”

Dubai officially unveiled their walk of fame, called The Dubai Stars – a walkable star-studded experience across Downtown Dubai, which honours global personalities from all walks of life on their achievements and work. Atif Aslam along with seven other luminaries from the entertainment world, including Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, Emirati singer Balqees Fathi, Egyptian actor-couple Mona Zaki and Ahmad Helmi, among others, gathered to celebrate the occasion and collect their commemorative plaques.

During the press conference for The Dubai Stars, Atif Aslam thanked everyone and said that he’s honoured to share the platform with these icons. “Music has always connected people,” said Atif. “I’d like to thank everyone who has been with me throughout my journey. With this platform I see a lot of collaborations happening because I was so looking forward to meet all these celebrities. I want to work in the field of music. I want to collaborate with them, get to know their culture and know about how beautiful they are.”
