One of the most anticipated drama serials to watch out for this year is the Sajal Aly and Hamza Ali Abbasi starrer Alif, which is directed by Haseeb Hassan and co-produced by Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Humayun Saeed. The upcoming drama will see Sajal and Hamza share screen space for the first time; the two actors are immensely popular and have multiple hit projects to their credit.
We got in touch with producer Sana Shahnawaz to find out the on-air date of the project. She informed that Alif will air on Geo Entertainment sometime around September. In an earlier conversation with Instep, Sana informed that the drama is about soul searching and it’s a passion project.
Speaking of his role in Alif, Hamza Ali Abbasi, who is getting married to Anaa star Naimal Khawar tomorrow, shared that his character reflects his real life. “It’s about a person who is deeply entrenched in worldly vices and is someone we wouldn’t consider to be a good human being. And then his journey of shedding all those negative things and going towards God and a life, which is considered to be a good life. It’s about this transition,” he added.
Aside from Hamza and Sajal, Alif has an ensemble cast including Ahsan Khan, Kubra Khan and Sanam Baloch while other names are yet to be revealed. We are eagerly waiting for it.
“It is a wonderful story,” director Haseeb Hassan added in a conversation with Instep.
