One of the most sought-after female actors in the country today, Mehwish Hayat has been leading the box office with almost all of her cinematic ventures. While the actress is working on her next project these days - a web series directed by Wajahat Rauf - recent reports suggest that a collaboration of sorts is in progress between Mehwish Hayat and Huda Beauty, launched by renowned beauty blogger and entrepreneur Huda Kattan in 2013.
It was during Mehwish Hayat’s recent visit to New York that she posted some makeup videos and pictures done by New Jersey-based makeup artist Maliha J. Khan on her official Instagram handle. Huda Kattan not only took notice of it, but she liked, commented and reposted them as well.
Talking to Something Haute, Mehwish Hayat shared, “It’s interesting how something that started off very casually turned into something major. I was in the States with my family this fall when Maliha and I decided to come up with some looks and record them, put them out there, and just experiment a little.”
Mehwish further went on to say that she is the only Pakistani actress whom Maliha has worked with and that she’s been a very dear friend. “And when I started posting videos and pictures, Huda liked and commented, and ended up sharing one of them, which is when I realized sh** had gotten real,” she added.
Though Mehwish hinted that there might be a shoot for the brand’s products, the actress didn’t give out any more details. She continued, “Huda Beauty is undoubtedly one of the most renowned modern-day cosmetics’ brands that are globally recognized. For her, to share it on her own Instagram was rather unexpected, and we’ve kept in touch since. We follow one another on Instagram and we’re in talks for a project that I’m not at the liberty of talking about.”
