This season seems to be a strong one for Pakistani films, particularly at the box office as four big-banner productions ruled the business in the last couple of months. Starting from Teefa In Trouble that released in July, it became the highest grossing, non-holiday film and raked in over 30 crore in four weeks. The three Eid releases including Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Load Wedding and Parwaaz Hai Junoon also collected huge sums of money but JPNA2 beat the other two.

The film that stars an ensemble cast including Humayun Saeed, Mawra Hocane, Kubra Khan, Fahad Mustafa and others, has broken all previous records at the box office. JPNA2 has become the highest grossing Pakistani film, raking in over 60 crore worldwide. It has collected almost 44 crore in Pakistan and the other 16 crore at the global box office.

The other two films also did well at the box office, with Parwaaz Hai Junoon standing at number two (roughly 32 crore) while Load Wedding bags the third spot collecting over 10 crore.

Coming back to JPNA2, the film is a sequel to Nadeem Baig’s romantic comedy Jawani Phir Nahi Ani that was also a blockbuster.
