It is always heartening to see local films making waves internationally. Nadeem Baig’s Punjab Nahi Jaungi has turned out to be a massive hit overseas while Farhan Alam’s Saawan (scheduled to release on September 15 in Pakistan) recently won awards for Best Film and Best Soundtrack at Salento International Film Festival. Next in line is Ahmed A. Jamal’s critically acclaimed Rahm that is all set to hit cinemas in Paris in the coming days.

Next in line is Ahmed A. Jamal’s critically acclaimed Rahm that is all set to hit cinemas in Paris in the coming days.

Released nationwide in the last quarter of 2016, Rahm stars Sanam Saeed and Sunil Shanker in pivotal roles. It is expected to premiere in Paris on October 8, followed by 36 screenings in different parts of the country.

Rahm revolves around the theme of justice and Saeed plays the protagonist who fights against the system to end corruption. It is based on William Shakespeare’s play Measure for Measure and was released in England on account of Shakespeare’s death anniversary.

In an earlier interview with Instep, the actor shared, “It’s not a commercial film which is for everyone. It’s an art film, a dark tragedy to be precise, and only those who have read Shakespeare would be interested in it.”
