Having split with estranged husband Brad Pitt, after a gap of almost two years, Angelina Jolie has announced her comeback to the big screen. The actor is set to return to acting with the sequel of successful Disney villain story, Maleficent, called Maleficent 2: I’m Now the Breadwinner.
“I am now the breadwinner for the family so it’s time,” Jolie joked to Deadline while talking about her return to the screen. “I’ve taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids. We have been working on the script and this is going to be a really strong sequel. I look forward to having some fun with that.”
The first part of the film, released in 2014, was a commercial success that raked in over $750 million worldwide and garnered a lot of praise for the actor.
Jolie hasn’t taken up any acting assignment since 2015 and the last project she directed was By the Sea that featured her opposite Brad Pitt. After her separation from Pitt in September last year, she had taken some time off to look after her kids and family affairs.
