Singer-songwriter Jimmy Khan is easily one of music’s brightest shining stars. After stealing hearts with his appearance on Coke Studio 7 and before that with songs like ‘Pehla Pyar’ and ‘Aisay Kaisay’, Khan is both exciting and endearing as an artist.

Making it big with the track ‘Baarish’ which featured on the soundtrack of Asim Raza’s Ho Mann Jahan, Khan has been flying high. From emerging in Karachi for his tour of the city by the sea, which was presented by Salt Arts to touring the United States including playing shows in vicinities like Chicago and New York to featuring on the soundtrack of Mehreen Jabbar’s Dobara Phir Se with the song, ‘Khamoshi’ and joining Tonight, Us - a music group featuring Jamal Rahman (True Brew Records), Sameer Ahmed (Co-Ven), Ibrahim Akram (Red Blood Cat) and Rufus Shehzad – on the electro version of ‘Baarish’, 2016 has been a spectacular year for Khan.

Khan’s latest includes composing a tune for a TV drama called Tumhare Hain. Composed and sung by Khan, produced by Saad Hayat with lyrics by Ali Hayat Rizvi, the short albeit moody number has an indie-folk feel to it that sets it apart from other efforts while the character is certainly darker than some of Khan’s earlier hits.

Though there are plenty of TV soundtracks around, Khan’s ‘Tumhare Hain’ alongside Ali Azmat’s Rasm-e-Dunya OST remains one of 2017’s most intriguing efforts and for a TV soundtrack, it is a great departure from the norm of mournful ballads. Whether you watch Pakistani TV serials or not, look out for this song on Patari.
