Sanjay Dutt takes author of his unofficial biography to court
The enraged Bollywood superstar, Sanjay Dutt is planning to file a lawsuit against the author Yasser Usman and publishers of his unofficial biography.
The actor claimed the biography was loosely based around tabloids and gossip magazines from the 1990’s that have deeply hurt the sentiments of his family.
"I have not authorized either Juggernaut Publications or Yasser Usman to write/publish my biography. Our lawyers had sent them a legal notice, in response to which Juggernaut Publications said that contents of the proposed book are based on information available in public domain from authentic sources,” stated the Munna Bhai actor.
The biography titled, “Sanjay Dutt: The Crazy Untold Story of Bollywood’s Bad Boy” was written by former journalist, Yasser Usman who had previously written unofficial biographies for other Bollywood luminaries like Rekha and Rajesh Khanna as well.
The publishing company of the unofficial story, Juggernaut Publications has stated that the book was to honor the services of the 58 year old actor, however as a gesture of respect, they "won't put out any more extracts from the book in short-form media".
However, an official biopic, of the actor titled ‘Sanju’ is underway and will be ready for release this year on June 29th.
