Russian airplane spills gold bars onto the runway
Due to damage to the door handle, the door flew open and spilled gold bars on to the runway. An investigation revealed that around 3 tons of gold fell out from the plane.

Runway in Yakutsk was strewn with gold bars when hatch of a Russian aircraft flew open .
Russian Airline Nimbus’s An-12 plane took off for Krasnoyarsk with a haul of 9.3 tonnes of gold and other metals.
Due to damage to the door handle, the door flew open and spilled gold bars on to the runway. An investigation revealed that around 3 tons of gold fell out from the plane.
Authorities are reported to have recovered 172 gold bars that weighed 3.4 tonnes.
No harm was caused to any person, while the aircraft made an emergency landing in Magan, 12 kilometers away from Yakutsk.
