Boney Kapoor expresses grief in his emotional note after Sridevi’s demise
After India bid a tearful adieu to legendary actress Sridevi – who was touted as Bollywood’s first female superstar – the actress’s husband and film producer Boney Kapoor posted a heart-wrenching post to her official Twitter account.
Boney Kapoor wrote how the loss of his dear wife is something that cannot be expressed in words, “Losing a friend, wife and mother of your two young daughters is a loss inexplicable in words.”
Moreover, he thanked millions of fans, friends and family who stood by him and daughters Janhvi, Khushi’s side during this traumatic experience. He appreciated the love and support extended to them by Arjun and Anshula Kapoor – his children from first wife – as the family ‘tried to face this unbearable loss.’
However, Boney Kapoor also made a very important and special request; to respect the need for the bereaved family to grieve privately.
The needless speculations that emerged on the local media and its repugnant coverage of Sridevi’s death sparked outrage globally. People objected to how Indian media dealt with the passing away of a superstar which became highly offensive at times. The hashtag #LetHerRestInPeace started trending all over the internet, consequently.
Penning down his emotions, Boney Kapoor further revealed how his primary focus remains taking care of his daughters as the family learns to live without Sridevi, “My only concern at this time is to protect my daughter and find a way to move forward without Sri.”
We wish Sridevi rests in peace. Her passing away is a great loss to Indian cinema. Nevertheless, her charismatic personality will rule the hearts of countless people beyond all parameters of time and age.
