The most recent leap forward within the cinema business of Pakistan happened when a film ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ (PNJ) crossed Rs. 50 crore from box office to become the first Pakistani movie ever to reach the milestone.
The comedy-love story film is now the highest-grossing Pakistani movie yet, beating ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’ (JPNA) the 2015 hit movie, which was directed by Vasay Chaudhry.
JPNA stood at 49.44 crores whilst PNJ now stands at 51 crores on the field place of work.
The 3rd, fourth, and 5th puts are held by means of ‘Bin Roye’, ‘Waar’ and ‘Wrong Number’, grossing at 40.05 crores, 35 crores, and 30.25 crores, respectively.
‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’, written by Khalil-ur-Rehman and directed by Nadeem Baig, was released in September 2017.
The movie starred Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, Ahmed Ali Butt, and Urwa Hocane in main roles.
Film’s lead actor Humayun Saeed took to Twitter to celebrate the news and thanked his fans for making this happen.
The previous record for the highest collection was held by ry-directed ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’.
