Beijing’s fashion show features Silk Road inspired couture
BEIJING: Fashion Night, one of Beijing’s premier gala held at China Instyle Expo kicked off over the weekend. The theme of the fashion show was ‘Silk Road’ and home based designers showcased their intricate, unique designs.
Paris based designer Irakli Nasidze made his Chinese debut at the show.
The Georgian couturier shared how the diverse cultures along the Silk Road have inspired him.
The pioneering fashion show provided a platform for different designers to fuse Chinese aesthetics into haute couture.
While the runway was dominated by silk and exquisite embroidery, five Chinese designers presented looks inspired by the Silk Road.
Another attraction of the event was a special display of creative batik designers. The project brought together batik folk artists to collaborate with contemporary designers to fuse batik in contemporary designs.
The fashion show is part of many other exhibitions, runway shows and design competitions that are being held under the belt of 2018 Beijing Instyle Expo which focuses on revival of culture and spirit
