LUCKNOW: In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the farmers laid out an unusual form of protest against the governmental policy of low prices of produce, where they dumped hundreds of potatoes in front of the Chief Minister House, Raj Bhawan and the Assembly.
These farmers from Lucknow, claimed to be receiving even lesser money for their potato produce than what had initially cost them, putting them at a colossal loss which left them no option but to get rid of the potatoes they had in this uniquely structure protest.
According to them, the announcement of relaxed prices was taken only for the sake of statistics, without any consideration for the farmers who always have all their issues neglected by the government.
Currently, the farmers are receiving an exceptionally low price of rupees four per kg, however their demands are to receive a minimum of rupees 10 per kg for their produce.
