West Byford Primary School in Western Australia has set a new world record for the largest number of people dressed as Harry Potter and gathered together in one place. A total of 997 miniature Harry Potters were seen in the large stretch of land. Students, parents and teachers all dressed up to become part of the record. The celebrations were part of the 20th anniversary of The Sorcerer’s stone.
The event was organized by school’s library officer, Christine Metalex who wanted to “encourage kids to read and thank author JK Rowling.”
The new record has broken the previous record of 827 students which was held by a neighboring school.
The record required people to make videos, take photographs, sit together in same costume for at least 5 minutes.
