‘Suicide belt’ a wedding gift for Spanish bride who married Daesh militant
A Spanish woman, who fled to Syria and married a Daesh militant was presented a ‘suicide vest’ as a wedding gift from her husband, media reports said.
According to a report in The Daily Mail, UK, Asia Ahmed Mohammad, 26, fled to Syria from Ceuta in 2014 and married to Daesh militant Mohamamd Hamdouch, who hails from Morocco and known as The Decapitator.
During the wedding ceremony, the terrorist gave his wife a belt of explosives.
Asia remained in Daesh territory for more than two years where she married to Hamdouch, who was later killed in airstrike. Hamdouch had participated in mass killings, the report said.
The woman remarried another militant and had a child before trying to come back to Europe. She was arrested alongside Fatima Akil Laghmich, 21, in December last year by Turkish authorities as the pair tried to make their way to Europe with young children.
She was formally extradited and handed over to Spanish authorities on Tuesday.
