Paul McCartney makes surprising revelation about life after ‘The beatles’

Paul McCartney revealed The Beatles' fallout felt like he ‘got sacked.’

It is worth noting here that The Beatles performed from 1960 until their break up in 1970, and Paul had multiple roles in the band, including bassist, co-lead vocalist, he also had songwriting partnership with legendary John Lennon.

Recently at his post screening of his latest documentary, Man on the Run, with Judd Apatow, Paul opened up about how his world changed after the Beatles' split, saying, “It was, what do you do after the Beatles?”

He went on to say, “You know, the Beatles break up, that’s been your only job you’ve ever had, and then you don’t have it anymore. It’s like you got sacked.”

The music icon spoke about his “mental breakdown.”

“I mean, I did start drinking. I was up in Scotland on my own, (with a) new little family. No one was gonna tell me off for drinking too much ... and it was a lot of fun ‘til it wasn’t,” he said.

“I think just being on my own was very scary, because I’d always had the union of the group,” Paul further acknowledged.

However, after the band's fallout Paul released his album, Ram, with Linda McCartney, which eventually faced intense criticism. “I thought we’d got something special, and they didn’t, the critics. But critics criticize, and they criticized me.”

Noting, “And the worst bit is I bought into it. I listened to the critics and had sort of gone, ‘Mm, maybe they’re right. I don’t know.’ And it went for years that I thought it wasn’t a very good album.”

And one of the critics was his own ex band member John, “I don’t know, maybe he expected more from me. He expected something different from me, and I wasn’t doing that,” the music icon added.
