Trump’s AI letter sparks attention over ‘Unites States’ typo: Here’s why

US President Donald Trump has reportedly signed a new AI agreement intended to influence the development and use of artificial intelligence. The letter detailing Trump’s pact with key AI leaders posted on Tuesday after his meeting with technology leaders contains a clerical error misspelling his title as “ President of the Unites States.”

The letter that Trump posted on Truth Social outlining the self-regulatory framework after several major cybersecurity breaches in which AI chatbots escaped testing environments and compromised databases belonging to other companies.

The self-regulation pact was signed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and xAI CEO Elon Musk.

According to Zuckerberg, the agreement is giving the American people and our customers' assurance of technological integrity.

The pledge also featured the president's renaming of artificial intelligence to “superintelligence,” announcing the name change during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly this month and declaring that all official documents would use “superintelligence” or “SI.”

It is crucial to note that the pledge and meeting come after OpenAI revealed in July that some of its AI agents went rogue alongside incidents involving Anthropic's Claude models and breached the external systems during cybersecurity evaluations.
