Pete Davidson reveals what hurt most about Kanye West's attacks

When Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were in the middle of their divorce, Pete Davidson entered the latter's life as a romantic partner.

By doing this, he invited Ye's anger, which he publicly unloaded on him on multiple occasions.

However, what hurt him the most was the knowledge Davidson claimed the rapper had about his mental health struggles because he was publicly open about it.

But the Donda hitmaker still chose to attack him on social media, made threats against him, and even beheaded a claymation version of the SNL alum in his Eazy music video.

Davidson told Variety, “What tripped me out is I was super open about mental stuff — everyone knows this about me — and it’s like he was [saying], ‘Kill yourself.’ And he did push me.”

From that, the comic was asked further questions about West, particularly the antisemitism one, and whether his half-Jewish heritage triggered Ye to unleash antisemitic rants.

However, Davidson did not think so; rather, he said it is more complex than that.

The comedian listed several factors that revolved around West, such as his sudden fame, constant press scrutiny, the loss of his parents, and the people around him, that contributed to him going problematically berserk.

"What people don’t understand about that dude — and I’m not one-one-millionth as talented or influential or powerful as that dude, but I have dealt with a fraction of what he’s had to deal with public-wise — is that’ll do it."

Davidson continued, "He’s also lost a parent and has mental stuff, and I don’t know how he deals with it or who he has around him."

"Probably a lot of people who want to be his friend. I’ve had that," he said.

"When people are so far up your a** and constantly pushing and provoking you and not showing you love, you want to burn it all," the comic surmised.

"I think it got to a certain point where he was like, ‘Leave me the f*** alone. I’m just going to say crazy s***.’ There’s zero way he really feels like that.”

But in the end, Davidson joked that he took all the attacks from West to give a service to Kardashian so she could date freely.
