Royal expert makes shocking claims amid growing tension between King Charles, Princess Diana's brother

Angela Levin, a royal expert and major critic of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has made shocking claims amid ongoing rift between King Charles and Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer.

Prince William and Harry’s father took the unusual step on Wednesday of responding to criticism by the brother of his late first wife Diana.

The monarch’s spokesperson reacted that grief could impact reason, judgment and memory.

The assertions, made in a soon-to-be published book, relate to the now-monarch's conduct in the days after Diana's death in 1997.

Diana’s brother Charles Spencer alleges in a soon-to-be-published memoir that the then-Prince Charles told him "rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough", according to a report in the Daily Mail, which begins serialising the book on Thursday.

The reported comments were made in an argument over whether Diana and Charles children, Prince William and Harry, should walk behind her coffin during her funeral — something Spencer objected to, the report ⁠said.

Commenting on the reports, Angela tweeted “It was difficult who would walk with Princess Diana's coffin. Prince Charles wanted to walk behind as did Charles Spencer.

“Prince Philip worried they would fight so he joined, thought it wasn't enough and asked the children to walk too. They felt they should. Harry couldn't bare hearing other people crying when it was his mother.”
