Microsoft adds grok models to Copilot across Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Microsoft is rolling out Grok models from xAI in Copilot for Word, Excel, and Power Point starting with customers in the Frontier program-a move to expand model choice in Copilot by adding Grok models while maintaining commitment to bringing the latest AI innovation in the industry adapted to business goals.

To access new models, organizations must first enable the setting, allowing administrators to retain control over the data processed by SpaceXAI models across supported Copilot experiences. The primary focus is to gather customer feedback and analyze user implementation within standard productivity workflows.

Microsoft’s new multi-model strategy gives client access to premier AI models while maintaining the trusted Copilot experience.

Customer feedback, usage patterns and product fit will be evaluated before expanding model access is expanded to broader Copilot experiences and surfaces.

It is crucial to note that Microsoft evaluates models through testing and safety validation before making them available to customers.

Furthermore, Grok is not available to Frontier customers in the European Union, European Free Trade Association and the United Kingdom during the preview. Additionally, this move provides enterprise clients with greater adaptability toward multi-model AI in daily productivity tools.
