Sandra Bullock talks about her worries as a mom of two children of colour
Sandra Bullock admits that she is always worried about the well-being of her children.
The 62 year-old actress, who adopted two black babies, is worried their skin colour could cause them harm.
In an interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today show, Bullocks touched upon her concerns when it comes to her children.
winner, 62, is mom to son Louis, 16, whom she adopted in 2010, and daughter Laila, 13, whom she adopted through the foster care system in 2015.
“We’re different….” before tapping her skin and adding: “This.”
“I’m uber paranoid, and they will tell you,” she said of her kids. “They’re like, ‘Mom, it’s gonna be fine.’ I’m like, ‘It’s not fine. It’s not fine outside.’ The energy that is floating around our country and our world again.”
“The color of their skin... they’re my babies, they’re my life, but no one knows that when they leave my house,” she said. “So that is always in the forefront of my mind. I’m now learning to trust them. Where they are now is extraordinary,” she admitted.
