Gary Oldman makes shocking claim about next James Bond

Gary Oldman recently got candid and claimed that the next James Bond has been finalized.

The 68-year-old English actor and filmmaker supported his Slow Horse co-star Jack Lowden to be the upcoming James Bond in his recent conversation with Canada’s Global.

Keeping his “fingers crossed” for Lowden, Oldman said, “It’s been rumored that he’s on the shortlist. We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we? Because they have picked him.”

“They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So, my fingers are crossed for Jack,” The Fifth Element star stated.

Notably, Oldman did not clarify whether the 36-year-old Scottish actor has been selected to play the iconic role.

This comes after Deadline reported that producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal as well as director Denis Villeneuve, took auditions for the James Bond role in August, and prominent Hollywood actors Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson, and Callum Tuner were considered for the job.

For those unaware, many stars have played lead in the OO7 franchise, including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.

It is pertinent to mention that the new actor will fill the void created by Daniel Craig’s departure after the five-film run in September 2021. His first film was 2006’s Casino Royale and his last was 2021’s No Time to Die.
