Travis Barker ditches fatal incident: 'I cried'
Travis Barker recalls one tragic incident and how his daughter, Alabama Barker, tried to save him from
Travis Barker recently admitted that his daughter Alabama Barker stopped him from attending his 2008 concert before the fatal incident.
For those unaware, the 50-year-old American musician and songwriter survived a horrific plane crash in September 2008 in South Carolina, which gave him severe third-degree burns.
During his appearance on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, Travis revealed that Alabama, who was a preschooler at that time, admonished him for going to his show in South Carolina.
Calling to mind, he shared, "When I leave, and I say bye to Bama ... she's 3 or 4 years old. She's like, 'Dad don't go!' and she's bawling, and she doesn't usually do that. She's like, 'The roof is gonna come off. The roof's gonna come off.'"
"I'm like, 'What is she talking about?' To the point where I like went back into the house and I was like, ‘What's going on, baby?’” the First Date crooner recalled.
Despite being aware of Alabama’s fears, Travis still performed in his scheduled show and booked a private plane to return home the same night. He went on to share that he has a deep fear of flights and the plane they booked was small, which increased his fear to a point he does not even want to recall.
Travis shared that he started crying, which was "so out of character for me. I never felt like that before.”
He remembered, “I call my dad and show him the plane, and I'm like, 'Pal, I have an awful feeling. I don't know, this plane's small, pal. I feel weird.' I remember I was upset when my dad was like, 'Come on, you're going to be OK.’”
“I was like, something feels off. I even told my dad, if something happens to me, please make sure the kids are taken care of. I was saying way too much,” the Always hitmaker said.
It is pertinent to mention that Travis Barker’s fears turned out to be true when his plane crashed during takeoff, suddenly burst into flames, and claimed the lives of four people out of six.
