OpenAI, Nvidia CEOs set to speak at tech-focused G20 meeting: What to expect

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are set to speak at a technology-focused G20 ministerial meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina next week.

According to a spokesperson for White House tech adviser Michael Kratsios, the US is planning to have SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Meta’s Dina Powell McCormick and former White House AI adviser David Sacks deliver a virtual keynote on Thursday. The speech is expected to be on September 1 aligned with the crucial event details.

According to a company spokesperson, Altman will participate in an informal conversation with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in which the CEO will discuss significant advancements in AI technology.

Nonetheless, the meeting brings a series of gatherings over the next few months leading up to the G20 summit in December. US Technology and commerce officials along with the members will discuss the role of AI and cutting-edge technology at the Raleigh meeting.

The US is hosting the G20 and focusing increased attention on AI, emerging technologies and infrastructure needed to support their development. This year’s Raleigh meeting is part of a high-level dialogue leading up to the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami in December.
