Orlando Bloom has reportedly left the upcoming independent thriller Reset just before filming was set to begin, leaving the production scrambling to adjust.

Bloom had originally been cast alongside Priyanka Chopra, who also serves as a producer on the film. Sources say his departure came unexpectedly "at the last minute," catching the cast and crew off guard, TMZ reported.

Insiders say Bloom's involvement had played an important role in securing investor confidence and international distribution for the project, meaning his exit now raises uncertainty about the film's future.

Sources also indicated that his departure created a "fiery resentment" among those involved in the production.

Producers are reportedly considering a small group of actors to potentially replace Bloom, with Chopra expected to help make the final decision as filming approaches.

The film follows a woman who wakes up in the wilderness with no memory of how she got there, forced to rely on a mysterious stranger whose intentions remain unclear.

Earlier this year, the film's director Matt Smukler spoke positively about the chemistry between Bloom and Chopra. "I was looking for a pairing where attraction and mistrust could effortlessly coexist," Smukler told Deadline

"Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to make you believe both at once," he continued.

Bloom already has several upcoming films in the pipeline, including the Werner Herzog movie Bucking Fastard, and the comedy Wizards.
