Hayden Panettiere book: Social media users got the yacht man wrong?
Hayden Panettiere shared a mystery man on a yacht, and an encounter with him left her dissociating
When Hayden Panettiere was 18, she faced an untoward incident that left her dissociating.
In her memoir, she recalled that her friend took her on a yacht whose cabin was occupied by a popular British singer, whom she did not name.
According to the late star, her friend nudged her to sleep with him, but she refused and fled from the boat.
Just two months after her memoir's release, she shockingly died inside a South Carolina apartment.
The shock of her sudden death was so stunning that some section of the internet delved into alleged conspiracy theories.
They believed they had identified the unnamed British singer: James Blunt.
The evidence the amateur internet sleuths presented was a photo of them on a boat in 2009.
That was enough evidence, they believed, to pin the blame on Blunt.
However, journalist Dean Piper disagreed and gave several reasons.
First, he said, when the photo was taken, Panettiere was nearly 20, not 18, when she said the alleged incident happened.
Piper also pointed out that the actress said she never met the British singer before the incident.
But according to him, Pannettiere and Blunt have met on several occasions.
Here the 52-year-old officially entered the picture.
On X, he did write nothing, just reshared Piper's article and added an emoji, which has been interpreted as him agreeing with what the journalist concluded.
With Panettiere dead, it remains unclear who the mystery man on the yacht was.
