Nancy Guthrie update: Porch Guy spotted by social media users?
Nancy Guthrie's wanted Porch Guy was wearing a mask at the time outside her home
Since Nancy Guthrie went missing, online sleuths have been at it in efforts to uncover who has been behind her disapperance.
Sometimes, they speculated theories that were often bizarre, suggesting family members of the 84-year-old were involved.
But in some instances, they have also pieced together scattered shreds of information that may open a path to a clue.
However, most recently, some members of the internet community have been fervently discussing what they say is a potential lead in Nancy's disappearance.
He is Alex James Barnett.
On the face of it, he is a wanted individual in connection with the Tucson Police Cadet Carlos Ramirez killing.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department is searching for him and asking the public to come forward if they have any information on him.
But for some amateur internet sleuths, Barnett's involvement stretched to another criminal case: the Porch Guy in Nancy's case.
The infamous masked man was last seen outside the old lady's home, which authorities saw as an effort by him to tamper with the security camera.
His physical details, shared by the FBI, describe him as nearly 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an average build.
Matching these to Barnett's publicly available details, social media users say they got their man.
Despite the speculation, the Porch Guy remains unidentified as Nancy nears seven months since her disapperance.
