Kate Walsh reveals key reason to leave Australia
Kate Walsh opens up about why she has returned to United States and left Australia
Kate Walsh recently recalled that she no longer lives in Australia and has moved back to the United States.
For those unaware, Walsh left Los Angeles and chose Australia as her permanent residence after travel restrictions in 2020. However, she kept returning to the United States to film new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and many other projects.
At the Centrum Inside and Outside Makeover Salon Experience in New York City on Thursday, August 13, the 58-year-old American actress and businesswoman opened up to Us Weekly about her decision to move back to the United States again.
Walsh said, “Living on the beach for a long time as an extended postcard holiday was probably really good for my health in some ways. I was right by the sea and swimming every day.”
“I’m back in New York now actually,” she revealed. “I love the city and I find that it feeds my soul. It feeds me creatively and culturally.”
“I love walking. In L.A, you’re driving all the time and you live in your car. So, there’s outdoor hiking — which is great — but I love being back here in the city and being able to walk,” the Emily in Paris star explained.
It is pertinent to mention that Kate Walsh’s latest project is the music video for Matt Pond PA’s single Learn How to Lose, which was released on August 13, 2026.
