Barry Manilow’s Las Vegas comeback is interrupted again by illness
The update comes from Barry Manilow’s reps after his return to the stage
Barry Manilow has canceled his Las Vegas shows for Friday and Saturday after getting bronchitis, just days after returning to the stage.
His representatives told Variety and the Daily Mail that the 83-year-old singer canceled his Saturday, October 10, show at the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
“After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows,” his reps and the resort said.
Variety, citing Vital Vegas, reported that Manilow played two songs on Friday, October 9, before walking off stage. The outlet said his band kept playing until an announcement said the show was over. Attendees posted on social media that Ticketmaster emailed them refund notices after the concert.
Thursday’s show on October 8 was his first since August 22. After a summer tour of 29 shows in 68 days, he told fans, “it seems that we were pushing a little too hard,” and said he would return on October 8, “singing like a bird.”
Manilow announced in December 2025 that he had been diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer a month earlier and had a lobectomy to remove a lobe of his lung. He said an MRI found a cancerous spot on his left lung and that it was “pure luck (and a great doctor)” that it was found early.
He released his 33rd studio album, “What a Time,” on June 5.
