Hugh Dancy spills secret to happy marriage with Claire Danes

Hugh Dancy has finally spilled the secret to a happy married life with his wife, Claire Danes.

The Law & Order star, who celebrates his 20th wedding anniversary with Claire, revealed what makes their marriage so strong.

"I picked right," Hugh told E! News. "I could give you a lot. It would just sound cliché, but I mean, it's all true: care and consideration, all the rest of it. Time takes on different meanings as you pass the big milestones in 5, 10 years."

"We're just doing our best," he emphasized.

The 51-year-old actor further told the outlet that there is no single secret to a strong marital relationship.

"I don't think there's a single secret that you can pass on to anybody else," said Hugh. "You never know what's the truth of somebody else's relationship."

For those unversed, Hugh began dating Claire in 2006. After being in a relationship for three years, the two officially exchanged vows in 2009.

The pair also share three kids - son Cyrus, 13, son Rowan, almost 8, and daughter Shay, 3.

In January, Claire appeared on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, where she opened up about her relationship with Hugh.

“Hugh and I are very lucky,” she said. “We’re well-matched humans. I think our parenting styles are pretty level and equal as well.”

“He’s a swell dude,” Claire added.
