Buckingham Palace makes big announcement as Balmoral Castle closed

Buckingham Palace has made a big announcement that it will remain open to visitors this summer after King Charles Balmoral Castle was closed due to royal family’s plans.

The Royal Collection Trust, in a joint post with palace, shared the iconic letters King Charles has been sent by the children from across the world.

“This summer at Buckingham Palace, explore a new display that reproduces handwritten letters and drawings sent to The King by children from around the world,” the announcement reads.

It further said, “Many children write to His Majesty to highlight shared interests including the environment and sustainability or ask about his duties as Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth.”

They announced, “Buckingham Palace is open this summer to visitors until 27 September 2026.”

The announcement came a day after the Balmoral Castle was closed to the public amid King Charles plans with the royal family.

The announcement was made on the castle’s official Instagram handle on Sunday.

It reads, “Balmoral Castle, including the grounds, gardens and exhibitions, is now closed to the public.

“Thank you to everyone who visited the Castle and Estate during the 2026 summer season. We hope you enjoyed your time at Balmoral and left with lasting memories of your visit.”

The statement further announced that until next time, keep an eye on the social media channels for updates, including the return of the “Balmoral Castle Exclusively Highlands Artisan Market on 6, 7 and 8 November.”
