Sarah Ferguson, Andrew want ‘foot in door’ through Royal baby
Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten Windsor are happy to become grandparents to Princess Eugenie’s child
Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten Windsor are elated as their daughter welcomes her third child.
The former Duke and Duchess of York, who are away from the royal family at the moment, are excited as princess Eugenie welcome a girl with husband Jack Brooksbank.
An insider tells HeatWorld: “They’re absolutely thrilled for Eugenie and very excited to be getting another grandchild, but they’re also saying that nothing brings a family together quite like a newborn, so they’re seeing this as an opportunity to try and build a bridge with Charles and Camilla and the rest of their extended family.”
“Andrew’s very excited and proud and he’s been sharing updates with the family members he still keeps in touch with, and certain courtiers and other staffers as well,” the insider adds.
“He and Sarah are definitely looking at this as a foot back in the door with the Firm. They know this baby isn't going to erase everything that's happened, but they can’t help but pin a lot of hope on this. They are determined to make the most of every opportunity this new arrival brings because, in their minds, it's a rare chance to remind everyone they're still part of the family,” the expert notes.
