Henry Winkler gives shut-up call to 'Happy Days' costar?
Henry Winkler opens up about his time on the set of famous sitcom 'Happy Days'
Henry Winkler recently admitted that he still misses his time on the set of Happy Days.
The 80-year-old American actor and director appeared at Fanboy Expo Knoxville last month, where he opened up about his time with actors like Marion Ross, Don Most, Ron Howard, Tom Bosley, Erin Moran, and others on Happy Days.
Winkler, who played Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli in the famous sitcom, stated that the set was totally ego-free; however, there was only one guest star who did not get the memo.
He said, “The truth of the matter is really on our set, there was no stardom. We were an ensemble. We worked hard at making it funny every week.”
The Night Shift star shared, “There was no— one guy came on as a guest star, and then he was brought back a few times. And he would mention his fan mail. And I said, ‘You don’t wanna talk to me about fan mail. I got 50,000 letters a week.’”
Winkler went on to state that he had clearly asked the guest star to stop and explained why he did this by saying, “And I said, ‘We don’t talk about that on the set. We are all here as one.’ And he kept doing it, and he was an a*****.”
Notably, the legendary actor refrained from sharing the guest actor’s name but he revealed that “he played Eugene Belvin” in Happy Days.
It is pertinent to mention that Denis Mandel played Eugene in a total of ten episodes across seasons 8 and 9 of the American television sitcom Happy Days that aired on ABC from January 15, 1974, to July 19, 1984.
