Prince William and Kate Middleton will follow Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie’s footsteps as the royal couple are set to travel to Glasgow today for the Commonwealth Games.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will take part in several sporting events throughout the day.

During their visit to the Games on Saturday, Kate and William will spend time with Team Wales competitors and their families.

The Majesty Magazine shared Kensington Palace announcement on its X, formerly Twitter handle, saying, “NEW: The Prince and Princess of Wales – Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland – will watch some of the fixtures at the Commonwealth Games (Glasgow 2026) today. TRH will also meet Team Wales athletes and those supported by @TeamSportsAid, of which the Princess is patron.”

Kate and William’s trip comes two days after Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie attended the event.

Palace confirmed on its official website, “The Duke of Edinburgh, Vice Patron, Commonwealth Sport, and The Duchess of Edinburgh today attended the XXIII Commonwealth Games and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Jacqueline McLaren, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).”

Moreover, Princess Anne also attended the event on day 7th of the games.

The Glasgow 2026 official Instagram handle shared photos of Princess Anne, and said, “Wonderful to welcome HRH The Princess Royal to our headquarters and venues on Day 7 of the Commonwealth Games.”
