Samara Weaving reportedly joins Marvel Cinematic Universe
Everything to know about Samara Weaving's next anticipated role
Samara Weaving is reportedly being tipped for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Australian actress, 34, has been cast as Emma Frost in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot, per Variety.
Emma Frost is one of the most popular characters in the X-Men comics and known for her telepathic abilities and her ability to turn her body into diamond.
Although she first appeared as a villain, she later became one of the X-Men's most important leaders.
The reported casting comes after Marvel Studios made several big announcements at San Diego Comic-Con. The studio confirmed that Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider, while David Jonsson has been cast as the new Black Panther in Black Panther 3.
Marvel's new X-Men movie will be directed by Jake Schreier. It will be the studio's first standalone X-Men film since Disney bought 20th Century Fox in 2019, bringing the mutant characters fully under Marvel Studios.
Before the reboot arrives, several actors from the original X-Men films, including Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and James Marsden, are set to return in Avengers: Doomsday.
