Princess Diana honeymoon ‘obsession’ with Queen Camilla laid bare
Princess Diana did not like Queen Camilla‘s involvement in her marriage to King Charles
Princess Diana was reportedly disturbed during her honeymoon with King Charles due to Queen Camilla.
The former princess of Wales, who passed away in 1997, had intense row with her former husband over Camila‘s parting gift right ahead of their marriage.
Princess Diana and then Prince Charles embarked on a tour in the Mediterranean Sea when the mother of two spotted a bracelet on her husband.
In voice notes to biographer Andrew Morton, Diana revealed, as per PEOPLE: “Cufflinks arrive on his wrists — two ‘C’s entwined like the Chanel ‘C’s. Got it in one; knew exactly. ‘Camilla gave you those, didn’t she?’” Diana recalled. “He said, ‘Yes, so what’s wrong? They’re a present from a friend.’ And, boy, did we have a row.”
“At night, I dreamt of Camilla the whole time,” Diana admitted. “I was obsessed by Camilla totally.”
The insider adds the couple remained separate for much of the vacation.
King Charles then wrote in a letter: “Diana dashes about chatting up all the sailors and the cooks in the galley etc. while I remain hermit-like on the veranda deck, sunk with pure joy into one of Laurens van der Post’s books.”
