iPhone 18 Pro September launch: Expected features, A20 Pro chip, camera upgrades

Apple iPhone 18 Pro series are expected to arrive in September, continuing its annual launch cycle.

According to multiple reports, the upcoming lineup will include iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max excluding the standard iPhone 18 this year. The company is also set to expand its portfolio with the addition of foldable phones.

Speaking about the design and features, it is suggested that the overall design may remain similar to the current-generation Pro models. However, as per widely circulating rumours, the company is set to bring hardware upgrades to boost performance, battery life, photography and connectivity.

These upgrades include: Smaller Dynamic Island, new 2nm chipset, satellite connectivity upgrades and camera improvements.

According to the leaks, Apple is expected to shrink the cut-out by moving a portion of the Face ID hardware under the display without losing any functionality,

The upcoming next-generation phones would debut the A20 Pro processor, built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm manufacturing process for major gains in power efficiency and performance.

Apple is expected to install a new C2 modem aimed at improving cellular performance. The modem may also support 5G satellite connectivity. It means the users can have access to the internet in areas where there is no conventional mobile or Wi-Fi coverage.

There are also rumours that Apple iPhone 18 Pro series would feature next-gen N2 wireless chip.

Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch panels built with power-efficient LTPO+ display technology. The users may have witnessed certain upgrades in design and build.

For instance, iPhone 18 Pro Max will be introduced in different colours including dark cherry, light blue, silver and dark gray. It may feature a slightly thicker chassis housing a battery nearly 10% larger than its predecessor.

For better photography, Apple could feature “the primary 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a variable aperture,” allowing the users to adjust the amount of lights entering the sensor. As per leaks, the company is expected to install pressure-sensitive input and remove touch sensitivity and haptic feedback to simplify Camera Control.
