Matt Damon reveals surprising approach to his daughters' dating lives
The actor is the father of four daughters
Matt Damon shared that he is not a strict dad when it comes to his four daughters dating.
The 55-year-old actor, who is all set for his big-screen role in The Odyssey, revealed in a recent chat that he approves of many of the young men his daughters have dated.
The doting father, who shares Gia, 17, Stella, 15, Alexia, 27, and Isabella, 20, with wife Luciana Barroso Damon, told E News during The Odyssey premiere in New York City on July 14, "I'm pretty kind."
He then praised his daughter, noting they "have very wonderful tastes."
But as a dad of four girls, Matt joked he would become protective if necessary.
Matt said his approach is similar to fellow Oscar winner Sean Penn's, recalling a joke Penn once made about his daughter Dylan Penn's childhood boyfriend before a date.
"My favorite line that I've ever seen was Sean Penn's," Matt said with a laugh, before quoting the One Battle After Another star's 2015 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, "' Whatever you do to her, I'm gonna do to you when you get home.'"
Matt previously revealed that The Odyssey "was by far the hardest movie to the most challenging movie" he has ever been part of.
But after his daughters praised the film, it was a grateful moment for him.
“She saw The Odyssey, and at the end of it, she actually turned to me, and she said, ‘Dad, I’m proud of you,’ ” Damon said to People. “She’s never said anything like that because we joke around a lot, and so at that point, I was like, ‘I’m good.’”
