Eric André calls 'Little Brother' costar John Cena 'toxic'?

Eric André recently got candid and opened up about his experience working with John Cena in Little Brother.

At the New York City premiere of Little Brother on June 18, the 43-year-old renowned American comedian and actor gave an interview to PEOPLE magazine, admitting that Cena hugely supported him in his comedy career after they first met on his Adult Swim late-night talk show comedy series, The Eric André Show, in 2020.

André said, “He's perfect. I feel comfortable with John. John did my show when I was up and coming, and he was already wildly successful.”

“He always made me feel welcome and comfortable, and always took care of me and looked after me on set,” he confessed.

The Lion King star went on to sing praises of the cast and crew of Little Brother for creating a “very nurturing” environment.

André articulated, “One toxic person or bully can kind of ruin the whole gig for everybody. Their toxicity spreads throughout the set.”

“But we just lucked out with this group. This is such an amazing cast. The producers are amazing, the writers are amazing, the director's amazing and Netflix has been nothing but incredibly supportive. I hit the jackpot with this one,” he shared.

For those unaware, the forthcoming comedy stars Cena as Rudd, whose life takes a tumultuous turn when his “eccentric little brother unexpectedly reappears.”

It is pertinent to mention that Little Brother is scheduled to be released on Netflix on June 26, 2026.
