Prince George’s father comes under fire: ‘Do you prefer to observe from palaces & ivory towers?’

There is a lot of chatter about the fact that Prince William decided to go with Eton for his decision when it comes to schooling the future King of England, Prince George.

However the news has not been equally supported by all especially columnist JJ Anisiobi, in a piece for the Daily Express.

He posed the alternate idea of George going into public school rather than the elite bubble that Eton has to offer.

In his view, the fact that Prince William is one royal that has been harping on about modernization, and in doing so, “ensuring it remains relevant,” means he should consider something new.

In Mr Anisiobi’s eyes, “nothing says modern quite like breaking with centuries of tradition, mate. Because what exactly does the Royal Family learn by continuing to educate its children in elite bubbles? Some will argue that Britain’s future King requires exceptional security, specialist support and an education befitting his role.”

Moreover, “there is enormous value in mixing with children from different backgrounds and hearing first-hand about the challenges ordinary families face,” the writer pointed out as well.

He also added, “George would learn that not everyone lives in a sprawling house with staff on hand to serve. Not every child has access to endless opportunities or a safety net of millions of pounds when things go wrong.”

But also that not every family has a “disgraced” uncle “quietly tucked away in one of several grand residences,” and that “real-world perspective matters and must be lived and felt, not read about.”

Before concluding though he pointed out how this wasn’t as revolutionary as some may think because “this isn’t some radical fantasy, by the way. Royal families across Europe have already embraced a more grounded approach. The heirs to the Dutch, Norwegian and Danish thrones have all attended local state schools as part of a more egalitarian upbringing.”

In doing so their monarchies “haven’t collapsed,” he clapped back saying as well. “If anything,” he admitted, “they feel more connected to the people they serve. Sending Prince George to Eton suggests the Royal Family still prefers to observe the country from behind palace gates and ivory towers.”
