Olivia Rodrigo expresses love for UK: 'I feel so normal here'

Olivia Rodrigo is expressing her love for the UK.

"I feel so normal here, very adult. I can walk to the pub and meet friends. It's a city where spontaneity is really encouraged," the 23-year-old pop star said during an interview with BBC.

"People are very social here, in a way that they're not in Southern California," added Olivia.

The Deja Vu songstress has even learned how to cope with the rain in London.

"It wouldn't be a proper English summer without it," she joked.

Earlier this month, the chart-topping star revealed that she penned a huge chunk of her new album, titled You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, in London.

"I’m the best version of myself when I’m there. I wrote lots of the album in London; lots [of it] was inspired by my time there," said Olivia. 

"Maybe it’s because it rains so much that all you want to do is be inside with the guitar and write," she added.

It is worth mentioning here that Olivia was in a relationship with London-born actor Louis Partridge. The relationship didn't last long, as the two called it quits in December 2025 after two years of dating.
