Joan Cusack breaks silence on six-year Hollywood break ahead of 'Toy Story 5' return
The actress first started working with the 'Toy Story' franchise in 1999
Joan Cusack, who plays Jessie in Toy Story 5, is addressing her six-year break from Hollywood, calling it "priceless."
Joan has made her return by voicing the yodeling cowgirl in Toy Story 5, as Jessie steps into the spotlight as the main protagonist in the upcoming movie.
During the Los Angeles premiere of Toy Story 5 on Tuesday, she told Variety that she especially returned for the movie.
"I feel so honored to have worked in this industry for a long time," the Working Girl actress said.
However, Joan noted that she enjoyed her break and lived a mundane life.
Joan, who shares sons Dylan John and Miles with her husband, explained, "But it's also great to live your life and raise your kids and be in Chicago and be a normal person."
"It's kind of priceless, so there's that," she remarked.
Before the Los Angeles premiere, she also appeared in the London premiere of the movie, which marked her first red carpet appearance in 11 years.
Toy Story 5 Synopsis:
As the logline of Toy Story 5 centers around Joan's character, Jessie, its synopsis reads, “This time it's Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they're introduced to what kids are obsessed with today....electronics!”
Joan first played Jessie in Toy Story for the second film, which hit theaters in 1999.
Toy Story 5 is all set to hit theaters on June 19.
