Meghan Markle gets harsh history lesson: ‘The royals are the only reason the world pays attention’
Meghan Markle has been handed a reminder of epic proportions and its all come to a head
Yet again Meghan Markle has been ridiculed for the way she continues to dive back into the royal link sphere, whether it be in every interview she gives, or in every successful product, production or idea she births.
Its even got to a point where author Alicia Liberty penned a piece for the Daily Express highlighting how far the mighty seem to have fallen.
She started by saying, “the institution Meghan and Harry appeared determined to expose is still standing. In some respects, it may even have emerged stronger. That was probably not part of their plan.”
Reason being, just a few years ago big names were congregating near the Sussexes, whether it be Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey or even Ellen Degeneres etc etc.
But since then, especially after The Spotify deal fell through and its CEO called them both ‘f****** grifters” the celebrity endorsements turned fewer and further betten. Not only that “the excitement has cooled,” and “the novelty appears to have worn off.”
But she didn’t end there, instead the write added “Hollywood can be brutally transactional. The moment you stop generating buzz, attention shifts elsewhere. And right now there are plenty of newer stars competing for the spotlight.”
And that is precisely where the issue lies and reconnects, in the eyes of the author, because “this is the point that ties everything together: the monarchy remains Meghan’s greatest asset.”
“Not because she is a working royal, and certainly not because she wants to return to ribbon cuttings and palace receptions,” she clarified before adding “but because the royal connection remains the single biggest reason the world continues to pay attention.”
She also brought light to the fact that “very headline. Every interview. Every product launch. Every appearance - the royal link is never far away.”
It came to a point where she was forced to conclude saying, “Distance from the monarchy may provide freedom, but proximity to it provides relevance. And in an era where attention is currency, relevance is everything.”
