Duchess Sophie throwing her weight around to befriend Kate, Meghan

Duchess Sophie is playing a creepy role in sorting out differences between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, who is loved by all the members of the royal family, is using her position to heal differences within the institution.

An inside tells Closer Magazine: “Sophie is so well-loved by everyone in the family. No one has a bad word to say about her, which makes her very well-positioned to help Meghan and Harry.”

“It’s a delicate situation, so it has to be done in baby steps, and right now she’s testing the waters with various members of the Firm, trying to get a feel for how she could help to heal this rift,” they added.

“It’s no secret that Charles wants a truce between these four and Sophie on a mission to make it happen.” the insider says.

“Sophie’s word carries a lot of weight, so the hope is that she can make some headway with arranging a meet-up between Kate and Meghan. She’ll need William’s stamp of approval, which is going to be an uphill battle, but she insists she’s up for the challenge,” they noted.
