King Charles is reportedly planning to abdicate and handover the throne to his elder son Prince William amid his health worries.
The royal insiders have claimed to the New Idea that there is no firm date in King Charles mind to step down, but, in order to be ready, rehearsals for the historic moment are taking place in private.
The source told the outlet on King Charles abdication plans, “He’s 77 and still being treated following his cancer diagnosis,” adding “He’s trying to keep up the pace but he’s tired.”
The royal family is ready for every eventuality, and the insiders revealed an official ‘abdication plan’ is being locked in with palace officials.
It includes a potential rehearsal for the handing over of the crown to Prince William, the Prince of Wales, 43.
The close confidant says, “Royal protocol has long dictated that plans are in place for everything, from a funeral to any future coronation.”
Moreover, the sources went on saying ever since King Edward VIII renounced the throne in 1936, abdication has been “a no-go topic” in the royal family.
However, King Charles has made his mind following the transition of throne in Denmark.
Meanwhile, the royal insiders believe the recent garden party hosted by Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton at Buckingham Palace on May 8, was confirmation a handover is being prepared behind closed doors.
